Who says Pirates are just for Boys?

Not all girls are complete girly-girls, and aren't we glad!!  We created this fun and whimsical Pirate party for 8 year old, Faith by adding just the right touch of "girly", in the form of a pink, yellow and black color Pirate theme!

3 dimensional letters spelling out the Birthday girl's name greeted guests at the door, while an eye patch awaited it's wearer.

We created custom Bandana inspired table runners, large treasure chest centerpieces filled with gold, jewels, shells and a pirate flag along with coordinating pillows to complete the lounging scene.

Faith has a serious sweet tooth, so we made her "Sweet Dreams" come true with this adorable candy bar!

Photobucket

Arg!! Faith and some of her friends, strike a menacing pose!!

Photobucket

The theme really came to life because all of the guests donned their dapper pirate attire...

Photobucket

Mmmmmmm....

Vats of rootbeer and lemonade quenched the guests' thirst, while customized water bottles added an adorable touch.

No La Soiree Chic event is complete without some fresh flowers to beautify the space!

I couldn't help but fall just a little more in love with this theme, when a few pirates made their way into the yard. They entertained the kids with stories of swashbuckling and led them on an amazing adventure to find a treasure chest of "gold"!

Only the special Birthday girl had the power to open the treasure...

Favor bags filled with jewels, coins and plenty of dress up goods were hidden inside the treasure chest. The kids loved searching through their treasures!

Although there were definitely boys in attendance, this party was all about the girls! Happy Birthday Faith! We hope we made your Birthday just a little more magical with this fantastic theme!

A Whale of a Time

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and it made me think about a small Valentine's day party I did for my son a few years ago.

Photobucket

I drew inspiration from this adorable invitation I found on Tiny Prints, which has a collection of simple, affordable party invitations and cards.

Photobucket Photobucket

The cupcakes were done by the talented Julie Desmeules, at Blue Cupcake, and designed to match the invitations and color scheme.

Photobucket

The food was all brunch-style, as it was a morning party- hot quiches, a handsome fruit platter, heart shaped tea sandwiches, and Mimosas for the Mommies!

Photobucket Photobucket

I made little favor bags filled with trinkets for the babies and a homemade Valentine as a favor tag and card in one.  The "lip whistles" were a huge hit, as my son demonstrates here!

Photobucket Photobucket

Good friends were in attendance and despite a rainy day move inside, this Valentine's day party was one I think back on fondly! It was proof that a little inspiration, no matter where it comes from (invitations, pillows, wardrobe accessories?!), can set the stage for a fun and cohesive event!

Happy Love Day!

Simply Charming

When these college sweethearts came to us about doing the decor and coordination for their wedding, they knew they wanted something simple and they wanted to find a way to incorporate their families into the little details.  Their vision started with choosing the grand church that the groom's own parents had married in years before, for their ceremony, and the charming Westlake Village Inn for their reception.

The bride opted for a palette of mostly creams and white, but wanted a burst of fall colors- brought in only by the flowers- to add color to their September wedding.

Perhaps one of the most sentimental and touching favor tables we've been a part of: The bride and groom wanted their guests to depart with milk and cookies for the road.  These weren't just any cookies, though. The groom's Mother gathered the "troops" and made dozens of batches of chocolate chip cookies along with traditional Italian wedding cookies as a nod to their heritage. Sweet and thoughtful- just like the bride and groom. It was, Simply: Charming.

It was an honor to have been a part of this couple's journey to marriage. La Soiree Chic wishes them the very best with a long and happy life together!

A Trip to the Vineyard

When our client approached us about doing a theme that would encompass all of the memories she and her family had during their trips to Martha's Vineyard, we were excited! The setting?: Johnny's Bar Mitzvah party. We wanted to create the fun vibe of a party atmosphere, but with an ambiance and elegance that captured Martha's Vineyard.

It started with a fun and unique "Sign In" board as guests entered the Country Club...

Photobucket Photobucket

The seating assignments were displayed on tiny adirondack chairs, just because...well, they're fun!

Photobucket

We created a lounge area for the kids- complete with couches, beach balls and a few adirondack chairs to tie it all together and make it just a little more "beachy"...

Photobucket

A few hydrangea centerpieces in the adult cocktail area seemed  fitting as arrangements...

Photobucket

The tables were dressed in Navy linens with burlap overlays, lighthouse centerpieces (that really lit up!) and a sign straight from the Vineyard.

Photobucket

Each table was named after a favorite shop, activity, restaurant or landmark that the family fondly recalled from their trips.  Such a sweet & sentimental addition!

Photobucket Photobucket

Photobucket

We created a "logo" and used it as a sign within the kids' lounge area.

Photobucket

As the evening wore on, we opened up a beautiful blue and white candy bar for dessert... Salt water taffy, shark gummies, and glittering blueberry rock candy were just a few of the tempting treats!

Photobucket

The final touch was a favor that we take no credit for- the client designed and presented comfortable hoody sweatshirts as a parting gift to their guests.  The logo- "J.B's Vineyard" is just obscure enough that it's a sweatshirt you can wear around town with pride.  It was so much fun to watch the guests' surprised and happy faces as they realized there were sweatshirts for everyone!

Photobucket

There are occasionally innovative and sentimental "theme" parties that really touch your heart, and Johnny's Bar Mitzvah party was one of them.  We wish the Berman family, and especially Johnny, well and hope that the memories from this special night will last a lifetime!!
